Complaints about spam, spammed by a spammer

Yeah, I’m confused by the title too. But it’s just silly enough to post about.
This morning I was spammed. Nothing new, I get tons of spam. Everyone does.
But this was strange. Because, as I skimmed the message, it suddenly occurred to me that the whole point of the message was to berate Microsoft for “being a spammer”. It came from the “Strategic Partnership Against Microsoft Illegal Spam” organization — SPAMIS. How very cute.
It provided quote after quote (25 quotes total in this particular email, cited as “numbers 11 to 35 of 700″) blaming Microsoft for various spam emails that had been received. Even more strange, the SPAMIS folks made no significant effort to disguise the fact that there were tons of (essentially) identical quotes from people with identical names. So, uh, of the 25 quotes in this email only about 18 were from people who identified themselves as distinct. Who knows, it could be even less if “Stinky” and “Blornx” are really the same “people”.
Anyways, I’ll leave final judgement on this one to the irony police, but I’m not putting too much stock into the pure motives of a group that spams me (at a generally unused email address, no less — one of “John Nagle’s” twice listed complaints) to complain about the debatable spam activity of some other organization.
