Hi there

Great post, I was also looking to do something similar for my mountain biking site. I found http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/ this is cool as you can upload the GPX exported from motionbased and create your own interactive map for your blog.

You need to sign up for an free google api key for your site but that is simple and you get results like: http://hotsingletrack.com/routes/20070821FostonsAsh.htm Check out http://hotsingletrack.com/?page_id=67 for all our routes (so far mapped).

These were all created with a forerunner305.

[...] Finally I get to post one of the cool maps! Jodi and I took a bike ride this past weekend, up to the Arboretum. We did this after moving our bikes from the bike storage room in our building up to a bike tree in our condo unit. We’d been planning this for quite a while, to make our bikes more accessible, so it was pretty cool to finally get it done! [...]

Good advice. I have a 305 and am addicted to MotionBased. Garmin sometimes posts more tips about MB and the Forerunner on their blog site. You might want to check there too.

If you have a PC then you might want to try SportTracks as well at:

http://www.zonefivesoftware.com/SportTracks/

It's donationware and has integration with the Forerunner 205/305 and Google Earth. It's more of a running log app than MotionBased and offers a fair amount of customization and editing features.

I use both, but SportTracks is my day-today running log for my Forerunner 205. Hope this helps.
